Continental A.G. and its Conveying Solutions segment have increased their footprints in Central Sweden with the purchase of Vulk and Montage Group.

STOCKHOLM, Sweden—Continental A.G. and its Conveying Solutions segment have increased their footprints in Central Sweden with the Sept. 8 purchase of Vulk and Montage Group, a provider of add-on products for the conveying industry.

Calling the region "an important industrial area," Conti said the Karlstad, Sweden-based Vulk and Montage complements its portfolio well.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

"With the Vulk and Montage Group, we are able to offer an entire service and solution package in addition to the current Continental product portfolio to our industrial customers in Central Sweden," said Song Qi, responsible for the global business with conveyor belt system solutions at Continental. "The acquisition underscores again our goal of further expanding our service business directly with our customers and aligning our focus accordingly."

With four locations in Sweden in Karlstad, Orebro, Mora and Stockholm, Vulk and Montage supplies belts, belt scrapers, industrial hoses, screens, wear rubber, lightweight conveyor belts, technical plastics and additional services like lining (cold and hot), spraying polyurethane, sandblasting and paintwork.

Conti celebrated its 150th anniversary last year.
